$100 Million-Worth Original Programs for YouTube, to be Supported by Google

According to a reliable source, Google prepares to make 20 special channels on its YouTube site, and will pay out $100 million to make original programming to inhabit them.

Google desires to make its individual streaming video programs, but the company will make inexpensive programming planned specially for the web and YouTube, and support the shows with advertising. The sources said this will be a “major overhaul” to YouTube, which previously has a profitable advertising scheme prepared.

It was not yet sure when Google would start using the money to make the new programs, but Google has visited top Hollywood talent agencies in look for ideas, and will perhaps finish up creating deals with production companies and directors to create the content.

The way broadcast television is getting is starting to appear apparent, where web-connected screens are finding their means into the living room and home theater in growing numbers.

Besides to an excess of group top boxes, a lot of new TV sets are ready with Internet connections, and Google’s own Google TV hardware is beginning to create sense in light of this newest plan.

With innovative content formed particularly for the web included into the fight for spectators, it’s going to be harder for cable TV, broadcast and satellite TV to control television broadcasting as they still execute. Currently, rather than 500 channels and nothing on, there will be 5 million channels, and if Google has something to make with it, there will be rather on. It may be cats playing the piano — now dressed up in tuxedos due to their prolonged budget but it will be something. And that great is just the opening.
