AMD Unleashes Radeon HD 7990, Matches Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 690

AMD has revealed its latest weapon in the never-ending battle of graphics card against its biggest rival NVIDIA. The Radeon HD 7990, equipped with dual-GPU is quite a monster, not just in performance but also in the price tag – a whopping $999!

The monster graphic card fits in a 6GB DDR5 memory and a pair ug HD 7970 GPUs in just a single board clearly competing with Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 690 that also squeezes a pair of GPU in the same range of price.

With its high performance, expect some heat that will come with it, too. To cool this down, AMD equipped the graphics card with heatsinks in each GPU and 3 cooling fans.

Radeon HD 7990

To further excite you, the Radeon HD 7990 is bundled with eight games that will test and show you the power that it has. It includes Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, Crysis 3 and Bioshock Infinite.

According to some reviews, they find the Radeon HD 7990 good but can’t match the GeForce GTX 690 due to the frame latency.

There are stutterings during the performance but according to Tom’s Hardware, this can be fixed through updates of the driver. In terms of sound and temperature, they say Radeon HD 7990 is quite and cool but still GeForce GTX 690 is much better.
