On Tuesday, Apple launched its smaller version of the popular tablet, the 7.9-inch iPad Mini at San Jose, California. In addition to this, it also revealed its 4th generation of 9.7-inch iPad, as well as the updated versions of some Mac computers such as the next generation iMac, 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display and a revised Mac Mini.
Despite the fact that the former CEO of Apple had dismissed the 7-inch tablets, the iPad Mini revelation has been widely expected by everyone.
The release of iPad Mini was CEO Tim Cook’s declaration of independence or a course of correction following a bad call. According to the an analyst, Apple could not afford to abandon a growing market to rivals like Google and Amazon.
According to CEO Tim Cook, Apple has sold more iPads during the June quarter compared to other PC manufacturer. He further noted that iPad has been making a huge purpose in the education aspect and is taking the business market outbreakingly. The designer of Apple Jonathan Ive characterized the new iPad Mini as an application and not a reduction of the original device.
iPad Mini is running on an A5 processor of Apple and consists of a dual ARM cores and a quad-core GPU. Its internal flash memory is 16GB and can be upgraded to 64GB. It also is supporting a dual ban 802.11 a/b/g/n wireless networking and can reach speeds up until 150 Mbps. It also sports an Apple Lightning connector which can allow connections to SD Cards, VGA, HDMI digital video sources or cameras.
