Following the unveiled Blackberry Z10, carrier rivals Verizon and AT&T announced that the preorders of the new Blackberry units has began. On the other hand, Blackberry announced that they received a 1-million-unit preorder of the Z10.
The phone maker just revealed that an established partner just ordered 1 million units of the Blackberry 10 phones. In a phone call interview with CNET, the spokeswoman refused to give a name of the said “established partner”. This transaction is said to be the largest single purchase in Blackberry’s history.
The announcements from the phone maker came in just when the carrier, Verizon Wireless, announced that they are going to accept preorders of the Blackberry Z10 that will commence tomorrow at 8am. When units arrive at the store two week later, it will then be available for purchase online.
Big Red will sell the Blackberry Z10 for $199 with a 2-year contract. They promised this just moments after Blackberry unveiled the phone. Phones will be available in black and white, other colors will be exclusive in Verizon.
Verizon Wireless made their announcement after a day when their great rival AT&T started the preorders. Rumors from last week says AT&T could move the schedule as early as this Friday. This was not confirmed by the carrier company.
