Adobe Systems announced a new update or version for their Flash Player and Adobe Air – Flash Player 11 and Adobe Air 3 – on Wednesday to help developers make more classy apps with several new features across tablet PC’s, smartphones and desktop computers as well.
According to Adobe’s director of product marketing, Anup Murarka, the two new updates are the biggest so far in two years, it will be available to everyone free of charge in October. Related tools like Flex and Flash Builder will support new features in Adobe Air 3 and Flash Player 11 later this year.
The new updates will enable 2D and 3D games across the internet to different devices, according to Anup Murarka. Enterprise application developers will also find the 3D capabilities popular for data-centric apps.
In the 3D support, Adobe confirmed faster video rendering on desktop computers is provided through acceleration of hardware. The pre-release of both 2D and 3D features for mobile devices like Apple iOS and Android is now available. The full production release is also coming in the near future, according to Murarka.
