The issues began on October 15, in the official Apple forum site, and persisted for weeks, gradually forcing Apple to push out a a statement.

“A small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices,” Apple representative informed Ina Fried from All Things D. “We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks.” Now, this update comes, by means of of iOS 5.0.1. The update is about 790 MB and will take 10 minutes or more to download, according to TechCrunch. But will it really enhance the life of the battery on the latest iPhone? As outlined by Wired, it definitely does.
