Microsoft chairman Bill Gates believes that a lot of iPad users are “frustrated” by the tablet, and that the Surface and Surface Pro tablets have an advantage over Apple’s offerings.
Bill Gates, Microsoft chairman, claimed that many of the Apple’s iPad users are frustrated with their tablets. He also said that they will cover these frustrations with their Surface and Surface Pro tabs with good offerings than Apple’s.
In an interview with CNBC, the former Microsoft CEO said that the line between desktop PCs and tablets is gradually blurring. According to Mr. Gates, Microsoft’s Windows 8 will try to recover their loss in the market share which is currentl headed by the iPad-like tablet PCs. “But a lot of those users are frustrated. They can’t type. They can’t create documents,”. This attempt is to provide users “the benefits they’ve seen that has made that a big category, but without giving up what they expect in a PC.”
Having a Surface Pro or Surface, you will have both the tablet’s portability as well as the keyboard which will be useful for the Microsoft Office.
It is clear that other platforms such as Android OS and iOS users still have to wait for Microsoft to let their Office Suite become available to their devices. This application will be Microsoft’s ace in entering the war zone against Google and Apple.
It is undeniable that Microsofts Office Suite added strength to Google and Apple’s foundations and slowly leaving the Surface tab strategy.
In a prediction by NPD, tablet PC’s will outsell notebooks by 2017. Like any other tablet PC manufacturer, Microsoft also wants to compete in the market. PC industry is currently their main market but sadly is it stagnating. This move of Microsoft is expected to change their position in the industry so cash would continually flow in.
