iPhone 5 New Casing Design and Release Date

iPhone 5 rumors are spreading everywhere these days, and the latest talks suggesting the Cupertino, California-based company will stick to the new kick off schedule and will focus on making some major design changes of the phone.

One interesting rumor would be that the latest iPhone will be cased in a metal alloy which has a smooth surface called Liquidmetal, , based on a report from KoreaIT News.

Liquidmetal is a robust material that basically works just like metal glass and can be used to make phones diversely, as outlined by Wired.

Liquidmetal parts can be made by using a method just like plastic injection molding instead of die-casting according to the report. There were many rumors that Apple Inc. will be taking into consideration a unibody case for the new iPhone, showing that there’s a strong speculation that Apple will depart from the design it has for the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S.

A lot more may very well be changing regarding the iPhone than its casing. According to a report from Digitimes, Apple’s latest iPhone in line will adopt in-cell touch panels created by Toshiba and Sharp. These changes would make the new iPhone lighter than the older versions, according to Focus Taiwan. The technology will allow the iPhone maker to make its touchpanels slimmer since the touch sensors will be set inside color filters rather than being over or on top of them.

Release date?
Since Apple Inc. changed its iPhone releases from summer to fall with the iPhone 4, Apple enthusiasts have already been looking forward for any indications that it’s going to switch back to the original releasing season.
There were rumors saying that the release will be on summer as started by a hiring spree at Foxconn as well as other reports of higher production, but Gene Munster, an analyst from Piper Jaffray, said in a note advising customers to plan for the fall.

Nothing is final about these reports gathered across the internet. Even the name of the latest iPhone, much like the new iPad which was called as iPad 3 when rumors appeared but Apple changed the name when it became official. Every body should still wait for the official announcements that will be released by Apple.

I am really looking forward to the new iPhone release. And if it’s going to be lighter and slimmer than previous versions, nothing like it. I just wish Apple comes out with Summer release date, so that I don’t have to wait longer.

All I am hoping for is a tougher and scratch-resistant case. Combined with the features of the iPhone, it will surely be a hit with the public.
