iPhone 5 remains the top-selling smartphone, survey

Apple and Samsung maintain their dominant ranks in smartphone market.

A recent report from Canaccord Genuity presented a survey that indicated smartphone sales are greater for smartphones from Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. The survey was said to be conducted in February in wireless stores. Even though February sales are weaker compared to December sales, the two domineering smartphone giants still got the top two spots in the market share positions.

Moreover, the recent survey is consistent with the past surveys and sales. It has indicated increasing combination of LTE smartphones led by market sales from LTE versions of Apple’s iPhone 5 and LTE versions of Samsung’s Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2.

In the U.S. market, iPhone 5 is still at the top as the top selling smartphone at Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T. Samsung’s Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2, as well as Google’s Nexus 4 are included in the list of top selling smartphones.
