When you think of luxury and wealthy people’s phone, Vertu comes first in mind with their worlds most expensive phones adorned with precious gems that will make it stand out against the most expensive smartphones available today. Vertu just released their latest android smartphone but forget about it for now.
In Hong Kong, a businessman popularly known as “Joe” requested a British master craftsman named Stuart Hughes to show off his wealth through an iPhone 5. According to the reports, Joe’s family owned precious gems such as a 26-carat black diamond for generations.
According to CNN and Stuart Hughes’ own website, the iPhone is made out of a solid gold chassis adorned with 600 white diamonds on the side, 53 diamonds making the Apple logo in the back and the highlight which is the 26-carat black diamond in the home button.
This black diamond iPhone is said to be valued at approximately $15 million according to the craftsman who said he saw the the certificate of authenticity.
This is just one of the most expensive phones reported. According to Hughes, he also crafted a phone that was valued to be $153,000. In 2011, he set a record by crafting an iPhone 4s with 500 pieces of diamond and was valued to be $9 million.
