Need a camera that can be taken underwater? The new Olympus Tough TG-320 is designed to let you take it up to 10 feet (3 metres) under water without it breaking. So if you want to go snorkelling in the Caribbean or the Red sea in Egypt, this is the camera to pick up. Or so they say.
The new camera is water-shock-freeze-dust-proof, to certain limitations. As well as being able to go 10 feet under water, the camera can take up to 5 feet of shock, 14 degrees Fahrenheit and -10 degrees Celsius. So all in all it is a fairly robust little camera. Test it out in room temperature, while you browse www.o2.co.uk or while you are on your hot holiday, to see for yourself how tough it truly is.
The camera is compact and can easily fit inside your pocket, without being too bulky. So in this sense it is exactly the same as all other Olympus Tough cameras. Weighing approximately 5.47 oz, this partnered with its 3.79 x 2.50 x 0.89 inches in sizing, will ensure you barely notice it is there.
In addition, the camera will take rechargeable batteries, and is compatible with SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards, Convenient, eh? It’s 14MP CCD sensor is amazing to capture high-resolution images in and out of water, and it can take 720p HD videos.
Other features you will enjoy are the 3.6x Optical Zoom, built in flash and 2.7″ LCD Display. Oh and you can choose the colour too. The camera is available in both blue and red.
This camera is to be released and available from February 2012, and will cost approximately $179.99.
