Plane Crash at Islamabad Killed 152 People

The investigation of the plane crash is already on the process. The plane crash happened on the outskirts of Islamabad and killed 152 people, morning of Wednesday.

The plane was an Airblue Airbus 321 that took off from Karachi. The place of Karachi is only 1, 500 kilometers away from the southern part of Pakistan’s capital. The crash site was identified; it was in the Margalla hills that surround Islamabad.

The chairman of Pakistan’s Capital Development Authority, Imtiaz Elahi, reported that the crash site was very tragic. It was the most heartbreaking accident in their record; nobody had survived the plane crash. The site was described as “a scene of utter devastation, with plane wreckage and human remains scattered throughout.”

Rescuers reported that they were seeing human body parts scattered on the site. They have already scanned the whole area of Margalla hills, but there is no possibility that there are people who survived the plane crash.

According to the investigators, majority of the victims were citizens of Pakistan. Furthermore, the US embassy identified two victims as American citizens.

The cause of the plane crash is still unknown. According to Pervez George, an aviation official, they only knew that the “plane was about to land at the Islamabad airport when it lost contact with the control tower.” After a few minutes, they learned that the plane has just crashed. Other witnesses saw that the plane was flying very low after it finally crashed.

The Airblue spokeperson, Raheel Ahmed, announced that there will be also an investigation on the cause of the plane’s crash.
