Study Shows iPad Owners Are Contented with Their Tablet Brands

ipad_tnApple iPad is the most well known tablet sold in Australia, followed by Android models from Samsung Motorola and Viewsonic.

According to the research conducted by HIS, iPad owners are the most likely to recommend their tablets than any other.

Apple users gave their tablets a typical 8.8 rating, making them very likely to recommend an iPad. Models from Samsung and Motorola were closely the same.

Amazingly, the bottom ranked tablet products included Toshiba (6.7) who has spent the past six months in the USA claiming supremacy over the iPad.  The US Toshiba tablet as well had bugs which at times put the device to sleep.

The lower-to-mid tier was dominated by traditional Windows PC manufacturers Acer and Dell with the HP TouchPad.

HIS said situations of the market had made a “major barrier to entry,” and was borne out by existing owners; iPads represented 79.2 percent of all current tablet ownership, and 61 percent were already certain they would stay with their present tablet brand.  Over half of those who by now had a tablet intended to obtain one more in the following year.

To those who are planning to purchase, more than 50% intended to obtain an iPad.
