On Tuesday, Microsoft Corporation has already set up the price for its newest Surface tablet below the iPad of Apple Inc. This just shows that the company is looking for an intent to have a part of the tablet market.
Microsoft is planning to sell a WiFi only version of their Surface 32GB tablet at a price of $499. Their device is much cheaper compared to Apple’s $599 price for their iPad.
The tablet of the software giant is pictured as taller and slightly heavier compared to the competitor iPad, which will be available on stores this 26th of October. At the same time as it launches its latest touch-friendly operating system — Windows 8.
Additionally, the company hopes that their Surface tablet, as well as Windows tablets from other hardware makers, will be challenging the dominating device from Apple, having seventy percent of the market after its release in 2010.
The Surface tablet will be running a simplified version of Windows 8 and is not compatible with the old applications of Windows. It will also feature a new style versions of applications of classic Office software like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. In addition to this, there will also be video apps, music apps, and Xbox games.
