Asus PadFone Infinity impresses on high-end specs

PadFone of Asus will make it big in the market.

If you are trying to come up with a marketable brand that will surely make it big to the market, “PadFone” would not be the first name that you’ll think. However, this amazingly peculiar name worked for Asus.

On Tuesday, Asus announced that it would be continuing to release its PadFone line starting with its PadFone Infinity. Basically, it is a 5-inch LTE smartphone that becomes a 10.1-inch tablet everytime it’s docked into the included PadFone Infinity Station. It is expected to be released this April for 999 euros.

The smartphone/tablet does not look far from the iPhone 5, except that it’s longer and wider. It has resilient metal encasing and is light in the hands. It runs with Android 4.2 and a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor with an Adreno 320 GPU. It also has the Super IPS 5-inch screen packs in 1920 x 1080 pixels, which delivers 441 ppi.

It also has features such as a 1-mega pixel front-facing camera, an ambient light sensor, Micro-USB 2.0 port, and an e-compass.

The PadFone Station is simply a shell for the phone and has zero functionality unless the two are connected. It houses a 10.1-inch screen with 1,920×1,200-pixel resolution. Other features include a 1-megapixel front-facing camera, Micro-USB 2.0 port, an ambient light sensor, and an e-compass. An added feature includes GSM, WCDMA, and 100Mbps-capable LTE antennas as well as a non-removable 5000mAh lithium polymer battery.

The PadFone of Asus impresses consumers with its high-end specs that’s worth the price. No release date is planned for U.S. yet, but Asus is expecting it be launched in April in the U.K.

HTC One is finally out.

Today, HTC Corporation finally introduced its newest flagship smartphone, HTC One. It was several weeks ago when the company announced its plans of building-up a new flagship phone as specs and images were leaked in the several websites.

HTC One is priding itself with a 4.7″ full HD 1080P screen with a resolution of 468 ppi. It also features a zero-gap aluminum unibody with a quad-core 1.7 GHz Snapdragon 600 CPU, 32 GB or 64 GB of storage, and 2 GB of RAM. Additionally, it has a 2300 mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and LTE.

The new phone is weighing at 143 grams and is measuring at 5.4 x 2.7 x 0.37 inches.

HTC One will also be running with Android’s Jelly Bean, but with Sense UI of HTC on top. With 4.2.2, the phone will be adding some features on the phone including HTC Zoe, which lets the user create short three-second clips using high resolution photos. This new feature will actually make use of HTC’s new UltraPixel camera. This added feature has a breakthrough sensor and f/2.0 aperture lens with UltraPixels that gather 300 percent more light compared to the traditional smartphone camera sensor.

An added feature also includes a front-facing stereo speakers as part of HTC BoomSound. This is the device’s new audio system that features Beats technology. HTC One also features HTC Sense TV, which is an interactive program guide and remote control for most televisions, receivers, and set-top boxes.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of HTC Corporation, Peter Chou, today’s citizens are deeply immersed in a constant stream of updates, information, and news. He added that even though smartphones are one of the major ways of keeping in touch with people and information.

Chou believes that a new, exciting approach to the smartphone is a must, thus having HTC One is one of the brilliant ways of mobile experience.

HTC One will be available worldwide on over 185 mobile operators and major retailers in over 80 countries starting in March.
